3. Vapor rubs - For infants older than 3 months, these can be used to massage the neck, back, and chest. For infants under the age of two, baby-safe balms such as eucalyptus, petrolatum, and other oils can be utilised.


Cold in Toddlers: Home Remedies

1. Get plenty of rest.

2. Drink plenty of fluids - warm milk, water, and diluted juice are all good options.

4. Honey for cough - Children above the age of 12 months can be given honey. Half a teaspoon can be given to children aged 2 to 5, 1 teaspoon to children aged 6-11, and 2 teaspoons to children aged 12 and over.

5. Resting with the head elevated - For children older than 12 months, this is done. It clears the nasal channel by promoting mucus drainage when youngsters sleep in a slightly inclined, raised position. Children are able to breathe more comfortably and sleep more soundly. To provide an inclination, roll up towels and place them beneath the mattress.

6. Prenatal vitamins - Vitamins contain zinc, which helps to fight germs, and vitamin C, which boosts the immune system. The Indian Council for Medical Research (ICMR) suggests taking 40 milligrammes of vitamin C per day.

Instructions

Warm Tea with Herbs

Tea with Ginger and Cinnamon

3-4 half-inch slices of ginger + 1 stick of cinnamon + a squirt of lemon + brown sugar to taste 1 cup boiling water + 3-4 half-inch slices of ginger + 1 stick of cinnamon + a squirt of lemon + brown sugar to taste It is recommended that you consume it twice a day.

Inhaling steam for a common cold


1 cup boiling water + a pinch of baking soda + 14 teaspoon salt (homemade solution). Bend over the container and inhale the steam while covering your head and the vessel with a cloth to prevent steam from escaping.
